one last night

how can one not believe in God at night when the stars seem motionless and the earth so solid under foot and yet we are blasting our way through a dark and deep space at a speed unbelievable while the moons, stars and suns swirl around us without our notice and we are held together and continue suspended through space without measure falling always yet nowhere the earth a bright blue/green ball and we somewhere smaller than a piece of star dust and yet living and yet alive our breaths in syncopation with these ancient stars and the song of frogs in love again

one last night in May-- a turtle migrating to the lake's edge
