October light

Sick at home I watch the plants adjust to October light while wild geese outside gather and form their migration south. So close over the top of the house they have flown, I can see the color of their belly feathers and the long, strong muscle in their necks. To sit here absorbing and watching the world outside these windows is a bit of heaven--not having to go anywhere, see anyone, do anything, be anyone...
